Located in the beautiful north eastern Sierra Nevada mountains, just 3 hours north of Sacramento, 90 minutes north of Reno, this ranch covers over 600 acres and is surrounded on three sides by the Plumas National Forest. The elevation is 4200 feet and they ride up to around 6500 feet where the vistas are spectacular. You may choose from several cabins and lodge rooms. There are 8 one-bedroomed cabins that will sleep 1- 4 guests, 8 two-bedroomed cabins that will sleep 4-7 guests. All cabins have a porch swing overlooking the ranch. They also have 8 rooms upstairs in the lodge that will sleep up to 3 guests. Some lodge rooms have adjoining doors, if you want to put the kids next door and still have access to them. All cabins and rooms have full western accommodation, each has it's own bathroom. They include daily housekeeping service.
The horses are hand picked to make sure that they are perfect for trail rides, and each one has it's own unique personality. They will assign a horse to you based on your riding ability. So - just in case you discover you have no riding ability their wranglers are the best at teaching city slickers how to sit in the saddle. Youngsters have barrels of fun with their western adventure.
They have the "Kiddie Corral" programme for ages 3 to 5 years. This is located right in the heart of the ranch. Your little ones will have full supervision from the Kiddie Corral Wranglers while you're out on the trail. There are plenty of ponies that are just the right size for them. During the trail rides they feature several cookouts along the way, a "Breakfast Cookout", a "Lunch Cookout" and a "Dinner Cookout." There's nothing better than the smell of steaks sizzling on the grill over an open flame, sitting round the campfire near a slow trickling brook.
They have their own ponds and they are fully stocked with native Rainbow and German Brown trout. Some meals are served in the country style chuck house where you will dine with the family and, whether you're eating in the chuck house or out on the trail, you can count on plenty of great western chow And, if you should have any special dietary needs, just let them know in advance.
In the evening there's still plenty to do -either a Barn Dance to be enjoyed or if relaxation is more what you had in mind, they have got a special section in the dance hall building set aside just for reading, or maybe some card playing. You may also want to relax around the heated pool or in the hot tub. Of course, there's also a game room equipped with ping pong, pool table and video games that will keep you and your kids happy for hours. The sounds of music and laughter fill the air as you make your way to the Dance Hall and Saloon. Here you will find the beer, wine and soda saloon .
