The Ranch history dates from 1863. In 1982 it was the first dude ranch in Montana declared a National Historic Site. The present family have owned and operated the property continuously since 1929. The ranch sits at 5600 feet altitude below Elephant Head Mountain, 50 miles north of Yellowstone National Park and 12 miles from Livingston.
The various cabins are tucked among aspen and pine, rustic log or frame construction with modern bathrooms (tub and shower), plenty of hot water and firm twin & double beds. They welcome singles, couples or families in comfort, peace and privacy. With the 21 day menu you would have to stay four weeks to repeat meals. They can accommodate low cholesterol, high fibre, vegetarian, porkless or allergy diets & they take pride in serving tender, lean grass fed beef from their own herd. Delicious pork, poultry and fish; fresh vegetables and fruits; fresh baked breads.

There are full day rides weekly and there are over 100 miles of trails. But there is more than just riding at this ranch. This place is a "shutter bug's" delight with sunny days, big skies, changing light and awesome scenery. Wildlife, wildflowers, waterfalls, cowboys, horses and cattle create endless picture possibilities. And when the riding is done there is volleyball, softball, horseshoes, table soccer, billiards, square dancing, nature walks, cards, games or reading from the library.Evening entertainment includes, dancing & blues band.
