This luxury Ranch is an oasis of history inspired by and deeply ingrained with a colourful past that is all Montanan. One of the first working guest ranches in the Big Sky area, there is a rich heritage of western hospitality and warmth. Unique is one word that might best describe the guest cabins. Whether the cabins were built 70 years ago or in the last decade, all are attractive, well-maintained and comfortable and include daily housekeeping service. The lodgepole pine furnishings, patchwork quilts and western accessories reflect the historical atmosphere of the Ranch, built in 1926.
ACCOMMODATION Each cabin has a private bath, wood burning stove or fireplace and electric heat. The smaller cabins have one bedroom/living area and bath. The larger cabins have a separate living room and 2-3 bedrooms. The Dining Lodge is a beautiful log building with a generously equipped modern kitchen, a log dining room with huge elk antler chandeliers and a massive stone fireplace.
FOOD Their non-smoking Saloon overlooks a beautiful Aspen grove. The Ranch Dining Lodge is a wonderfully informal and comfortable non-smoking room. The food has received accolades from guests and has been enthusiastically reviewed in many national publications. With its own unique style of guest ranching, Lone Mountain Ranch offers a rich variety of professionally led outdoor activities focusing on the Discovery of Nature.
FISHING The ranch is located in the middle of Southwest Montana's Blue Ribbon trout streams, just four miles from the Gallatin River both guides and guests are able to easily access some of the most consistent and rewarding trout water in the region. In one valley to both the east and west lie two other world class rivers; the Madison and Yellowstone. These Orvis Endorsed Guides usually access these two rivers in a dory style drift boat. A day Float Trip on one of these rivers is not soon forgotten but this is an optional extra charge.
