Recommended to all levels of horse riders from beginners to very experienced. This ranch offers exceptional riding for everyone to enjoy at their own pace. Easy access to the towering spendour of the Rockies and the wide open wonders of Montana's prairies. Good fishing for those who do not wish to ride.
The state capital at Helena is about 25 miles from the ranch. It offers a variety of activities and will try to suit your riding abilities. There are trail rides varying in length from 2 to 6 hours. You will get to lope your horse and get the chance to observe prairie falcon, osprey and eagles at the Gates of the Mountains and on the ranch.
Nearby birding sites include Missouri River Canyon, Freezeout Lake, Pine Butte Swamp Preserve and Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
This ranch now has a number of Parelli qualified instructors so you may improve your Natural Horsemanship techniques. You may practice team penning, when riders drive cattle into corrals. They also offer riding lessons for all levels of rider. Trail rides into the nearby hills range from one to five hours and are available every day of the week.
The Fly-fishing on Little Prickly Pear Creek and the Missouri River below Holter Dam is spectacular. A guide can be arranged. 3 guests a day can fish the Creek on the ranch. A range of accommodation is available, all have private bathroom. Folks like to gather in the main lodge with its large stone fireplace, comfortable dining area and kitchen.
Meals are prepared in the Montana tradition and feature local beef, healthy vegetables and fresh home cooked breads and pies. Meals are served family style. Meat-free meals are available for vegetarians and after-hours meals can be arranged for the sportsman who stays out late. Special diets can be accommodated with advance notice. Bag lunches are provided to be enjoyed on the trail. There will be a recreation room with a pool table and a beer keg to wash away the dust.
