Red Horse Mountain Ranch

The ranch is in the northern part of Idaho, close to the town of Coeur d'Alene. To their 50 to 60 guests, they offer a western experience from gourmet dining to a wide array of seasonal activities and themed weeks.

Encompassing 300,000 acres of Rocky Mountain territory which you will be able to explore with their licensed guides. In additional they will provide activities such as the high ropes and a challenge course, kayaking tours, miles of scenic trails, beginner to advanced trail rides, fly fishing, imaginative theatre trails, as well as countless other seasonal activities.

Also available are sporting clays, archery, mountain biking and boat tours.

Lodging options include everything from one bedroom suites to four bedroom authentic log cabins. Plenty of western flavour, comfort and tasteful decorations will make you truly feel like you’re home away from home.

The ranch are suitably proud of their high quality meals and beverage service. Your stay will include three good meals a day with a choice of a full cooked breakfast with buffet meals for lunch and supper, more choices of chicken, grills or fish.

During the week, the Old West Saloon will be open in the evenings and they have a different activity each evening following dinner. Activities range from live music, to campfires, to music and pool at the saloon.

Riding is the primary activity offered by the ranch. Riding is available to all guests over 3 years old. Walking, trotting and cantering is in order. There are two daily rides or you may sign up for an all day excursion and take a packed lunch.

Each afternoon prior to dinner, horseback lessons are available from a few of the wranglers, you just have to ask.

Advanced riders will be asked to take a short test to ensure they are able to ride at the faster paces. Maximum riding weight is 240 lbs or 17 stone.

There are many alternative activities once the riding's over such as a challenge course & climbing wall, boat tours, hiking, 3D archery trail, sporting clays, mountain biking, bike tours, on ranch fishing, lake fishing, fly fishing lessons, & morning fitness activities. A 1500ft Zip-Wire into the ranch pond gives endless excitement !

Activities requiring additional charges include guided fly fishing trips & massage therapy.

Each day guests will have at least two opportunities for western-style horseback rides. These include advanced riding, scenic rides, horseback lessons, all-day or lunch rides, kids and family rides.

Non-guided activities include on ranch fishing, geo-caching, hiking, swimming pool, hot tubs and library, family board games in the lodge, disc golf, horseshoes and other lawn games. Soccer balls and other lawn games are available.

Children aged 3 to 11 will enjoy the Kids Programme which runs from early June to late August.
