The Tucson Rodeo de los Vaqueros is celebrating its 84th year in February 2009. This is one of America's oldest outdoor rodeos and takes place over 8 days in February. So to enable guests to see and experience this and a ranch stay, American Round-Up are pleased to offer you the following package between Saturday 14th February and Sunday 22nd February.
14 February - Hotel Tucson - The week commences with a night at The Best Western Las Brisas in Tucson.
15-19 February – Ranch Stay. You will be collected at 9.00am by the ranch and transportation will be provided throughout the week. There will be a provision stop in Benson on the way to the ranch. You will arrive at about midday just in time for lunch. Take time to settle in and get ready to ride! Have the first of many rides on Sunday afternoon.
Riding,
delicious food, cattle work and entertainment are all part of the fun! This
secluded
property is both a working cattle and a guest ranch established in
1879, the hills are filled with history dating back to the fierce Apache days of
the famous Geronimo and Cochise. The Indian lore still exists in caves and the
forests which whisper their secrets. Surrounded by over a half million acres of
National Forest and Wilderness, with an elevation of a mile high, the
temperatures are conducive to year round pleasure.
Here,
guests will enjoy a real western lifestyle experience and are welcome to
participate in the day to day activities that take place at an authentic working
cattle ranch. Beautiful Texas longhorns graze in
pastures that stretch over 32,000 acres. Mending fences, checking water lines
and patrolling boundaries are part of the everyday horseback riding that takes
place at the ranch. On Friday you will enjoy the morning ride and "one last Fred
meal" - Fred is not just a chef, more a Meal Magician ! before departing for
Tucson again.
20-21 February – Hotel . You will check into the Radisson Hotel around 4 p.m.
With its
beautifully-landscaped courtyard and oversized heated pool, stunning mountain
views plus lavish services and amenities, the Radisson Suites Tucson provides a
resort atmosphere. This all-new Tucson hotel is ideally situated near shops and
restaurants and major tourist destinations. Transportation is from the hotel,
leaving to the ranch owners private residence in Tucson at 6:30 p.m. for an
evening of dinner and Mariachi music. Dinner and libations will be served.
Transportation back to the Radisson following.
Saturday and Sunday
breakfast included at the hotel. Transportation to the Tucson Rodeo will be
departing the hotel headed for the Rodeo grounds by approximately 10:30 a.m. VIP
entrance and seating at the Rodeo, lunch and drink tickets provided.
Transportation back to the hotel at the end of the afternoon when you will have
time for relaxation by the pool. In the evening you will dine at the Mountain
Oyster Club,Private Ranchers Club on Saturday evening. Reservation will be set
for 7:30 p.m. The club is right next to the hotel, so will be able to walk to
dinner.
The hotel will provide transportation to the airport on Sunday for you departure using a local operator -Arizona Stagecoach. This may be a shared ride. Air reservations may be booked through American Round-Up from all UK airports to make a fully bonded package. Tickets for Sunday rodeo available if your flight departs late.
