A small family run guest ranch located near Seeley Lake in north central Montana. Great for families looking for wilderness experience but with all the comforts of home.
Rich's Montana Guest Ranch sits at an elevation of 4400ft and is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Montana. It overlooks Woodworth Meadows near the scenic Blackfoot River Valley of western Montana.
They offer daily riding options, fly fishing for beginner to advanced in mountain streams and the Big Blackfoot River, wildlife viewing and bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, swimming in the lake, evening campfires and entertainment.
The ranch takes up to 24 people accommodated in modern cabins with western decor. For those looking for a more rustic experience, there are also pack trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness area.

A new lodge and numerous cabins were built in 1995 and are set amongst the trees overlooking the ranch meadows and horse pastures - all with a backdrop of majestic mountains.
You will stay in one of 4 duplex cedar log cabins with private bath and western decor or the Heritage Lodge, a 4 bedroom & 4 bath log lodge that is well suited for large families and groups. All of the guest rooms are well-appointed, blending modern conveniences with country charm.
Hearty buffet-style meals are served at the main lodge - including outdoor BBQ's on the lawn. A well-planned and healthy balanced menu is designed to appeal to a variety of tastes and appetites. You won't leave the table hungry! Between meals snacks - including fresh fruits and vegetables - are always available.
In addition to your accommodation there is a choice of activities during the course of the week. There are a wide variety of adventure horseback rides along with other activities for you to enjoy one of which includes an overnight camp out.
There is also some excellent fly-fishing to enjoy for beginner to advanced fishermen in lakes, mountain streams and the Big Blackfoot River. There is also a trout pond on the ranch. Swimming is available in the lake and the ranch has a hot tub to relax in.
The most poular ranch package is the Deluxe Vacation which includes full choice and flexibility to ride as often as you wish including all day rides and arena lessons. It also includes all meals, use of the ranch amenities and the option of participating in any of the planned guided activities throughout the week.
The riding stock at Rich's Guest Ranch is held in high regard whether you are on a ranch stay or one of their excellent pack trips into the "Bob" as its known. Mules carry all the equipment for these multi-day trips, the steep and narrow trails means walking the horse is the safe way to get to the top.
Riding experience is not required as the ranch offer horsemanship lessons and will allocate a suitable horse to your abilities. These will almost certainly improve during the week as you discover the beautiful countryside around the ranch. Where safe, trotting and loping may be possible.

#3: DAHAHER MEADOWS SPRING ADVENTURE TRIP June 24 x 6 Days This remote mountain valley was homesteaded by the Danaher Family in 1900. After 15 years of ranching this isolated mountain hideaway, the family sold it back to the government. It is once again part of the wilderness and an excellent area to enjoy lush green meadows and an abundance of wildflowers.
#4: YOUNG'S CREEK / ALPINE LAKES July 5 x 4 Days Come join us on a progressive trip down Youngs Creek to the Hole-in-the-Wall Canyon and back out through the picturesque Marshall Creek avalanche meadows. Great fishing and awesome scenery.
#5: HEARTLAND LOOP TRIP July 9 x 7 Days This is an excellent opportunity for you to enjoy high-quality fishing for native cutthroat trout availablen the upper Southfork Flathead River and it’s tributaries. See the Rocky Mountain wildflowers in full bloom on this trip.
#6: YOUNG'S CREEK / ALPINE LAKES July 17 - x 4 Days Come join us on a progressive trip down Young's Creek to the Hole in the Wall canyon. Great fishing and awesome scenery.
#7: HEARTLAND LOOP TRIP July 22 x 8 Days It's time to get away and do something for yourself. This trip takes a leisurely pace exploring and enjoying each campsite as we travel along. Again there is great fishing, hiking, and sightseeing opportunities for everyone.
#8: HEARTLAND LOOP TRIP August 5 x 8 Days Our 8-day trips offer the best opportunity to enjoy fishing, riding, or relaxing in camp along the upper Southfork Flathead River.
#9: YOUNG'S CREEK / ALPINE LAKES August 14 x 4 Days Come join us on a progressive trip down Young's Creek to the Hole in the Wall canyon. Great fishing and awesome scenery.
#10: SOUTHFORK HEADWATERS FISHING TRIP August 19 x 7 Days The dog days of summer offer us some of the West's finest fishing for cutthroat trout. This is the final trip of the season to the main river.
#11: ALPINE LAKE BASE CAMP PHOTO & FISHING TRIP September 1 x 5 Days From our base camp in Leota Park on Youngs Creek you have access to several quality alpine lakes and mountain streams. And a ride up to Crimson Peak will make life-long memeories.
#12: WILDERNESS BASE CAMP PHOTO & FISHING TRIP September 7 x 5 Days Leota Park makes a perfect setting to capture on film the vibrant colors as summer turns to fall in the alpine basins of the Rocky Mountains.
NOTES:Minimum age for horseback riding is 6 years. The insurance prohibits pregnant women from riding.
While riding is the primary activity at the Rich Ranch, fishing comes a close second. If you stay at the ranch, you can test your skill on cutthroats, rainbows and brown trout in the legendary waters of the Big Blackfoot River.
There is also opportunity to enjoy a combination horse back/fishing day ride to one of the more remote mountain streams and lakes or there are a number of trout ponds on the properrty
Also on offer are progressive pack trips through the 1.5 million acre Bob Marshall Wilderness which is considered by many to be the crown jewel of America’s wilderness system. Trips will vary in length from 5 to 10 days.
You ride horseback and all camp gear is packed on mules. You will generally move camp every other day and lay over on the days in between to ride, fish, explore, relax and enjoy camp life.

We can tailor-make your holiday with flights, car hire, motorhome and city hotels.
The ranch price includes a six nights stay from Sunday to Saturday. The deluxe package includes full board accommodation, all riding and use of ranch amenities, round trip transfers from Missoula. Sales tax and gratuities are also included.

Experience true western hospitality from the Rich's. Here you will be constantly entertained by the owners western history and knowledge which they are happy to share. Excellent cabins available for couples. There is a very large cabin suitable for family reunions. Fantastic horses, mountain bikes available and great wildlife viewing in early spring or autumn
